Context:
Heb. 5:12: "For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat."
V. 13: "For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe."
V. 14: "But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil."
Heb. 6:1: "Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,"
The context explains that the Believer should be mature after a certain amount of time. Progression should be made after learning more and more about GOD. If we are still learning the 1st principles of the things of GOD after walking with HIM for 20 years, then we've made no progress. After a certain point and time, we should go *UNTO PERFECTION* "…leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ…not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works…" How many times does it take to ask for GOD's forgiveness before progress is made? Before deliverance has sunk in? Before freedom has come?
"…Let us go on unto perfection…"
