Giving *EARNEST HEED*, or paying close attention to what we learn about GOD, can save us in the long run. We'll know exactly what to do and when to do it, in those times of great difficulty, if we don't let what we've learned slip from our memory. Benefitting from the application of Scriptures to your life can only be made possible if you've retained GOD's Word, absorbing it as a sponge.
Temptation overtakes those who don't know what to do when it comes—they've allowed what they knew to slip away.
Confusion sets in the minds of those uncertain of the truth—they've allowed what they knew to slip away.
Depression smothers those who don't know how to rid it—they've allowed what they knew to slip away.
"Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip."
