Scripture Post #939: *PRICKED HEARTS*
Acts 2:
37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

On the day of Pentecost, the Apostle Peter spoke some very powerful, compelling and convincing words about the validity of CHRIST's resurrection and sovereignty. These words were so very moving that it pricked the hearts of the unsaved listeners. Those with pricked hearts sought for further instruction—they said to Peter, "What shall we do?" Basically meaning: "We're in. What's next? We'll do what you say. What shall we do?" They were converted! They wanted what Peter and the other Apostles had. Their conversion was made possible by the power of the Holy Ghost. Because it was by the Holy Ghost that Peter spoke his compelling words, and it was by the Holy Ghost that the Apostles spake in tongues which had the bystanders in awe (Acts 2:4).
Successful ministry begins with the Holy Ghost. No GOD—no ministry. Don't try to prick man's heart yourself in your attempt at conversion; allow the Holy Ghost to do it. Because you can't do it better than GOD.
