This Scripture was from Apostle Paul, unto Titus, his son in the common faith (Titus 1:1-4).
The Apostle Paul closes out his letter to Titus in Titus 3:12-15. Verse 14 focuses on work and not being unfruitful. Laziness has what seems to be payoffs—one of them being: you don't have to do anything, you can relax. But in your over-relaxation, work isn't being done and productivity lies dormant. Believers aren't called to be unproductive. Hard work brings forth great results. You reap what you sow.
Rom. 12:11: "Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;"
1st Thess. 4:11: "And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you;"
Gal. 6:7: "Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap."
"Learn to maintain good works for necessary uses…be not unfruitful."
