This Scripture was from Apostle Paul, unto Timothy, his son in the faith (1st Tim. 1:1-2).
Context:
2nd Tim. 4:16: "At my first answer no man stood with me, but all men forsook me: I pray God that it may not be laid to their charge."
V. 17: "Notwithstanding the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me; that by me the preaching might be fully known, and that all the Gentiles might hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion."
V. 18: "And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen."
"…I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion."
~ The Apostle Paul
But Paul wasn't the only one of GOD's servants that GOD delivered from a lion—there was also David.
(1st Sam. 17:37: "David said moreover, The LORD that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine. And Saul said unto David, Go, and the LORD be with thee.")
Paul understood that GOD looked out for his good fortune. Not in the matter of lions only, but, as he stated in verse 18: "…The Lord shall deliver me from every evil work…"
GOD is a deliverer of HIS people whom HE loves! The testimonies of the Saints who've been delivered by GOD from evil and various troubles are surely great in number!
