Scripture Post #894: *QUICK & DEAD JUDGED*

2nd Timothy 4:1: "I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;"

This Scripture was from Apostle Paul, unto Timothy, his son in the faith (1st Tim. 1:1-2).

"The quick" means: "the living", or "those made alive in CHRIST". And "the dead" are those in Adam who are dead spiritually, having no relatedness to GOD. Both of which shall be judged by GOD. Christians and sinners will be judged alike. For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ:
Rom. 14:10: "But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ."
Every one of us shall give account of himself to God:
Rom. 14:12: "So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God."

But if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged. Meaning: Come judgement day, when we stand before GOD, giving an account of ourselves—GOD won't have to judge us if we had already judged ourselves, by eliminating those things displeasing to HIM.
1st Cor. 11:31: "For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged." GOD won't have to say, "You've displeased me", if we pre-judge ourselves, discontinuing the participation in that which displeases our Holy GOD.
