Scripture Post #866: *HOLY CALLING*
2nd Timothy 1:9: "Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,"

This Scripture was from Apostle Paul, unto Timothy, his son in the faith (1st Tim. 1:1-2).
This Scripture begins where the verse directly before it ends (2nd Tim. 1:8). The very last word in 2nd Tim. 1:8 is "God." So this Scripture truly reads, "…God, Who hath saved us…" And GOD has saved us, not according to our works, or anything we've done. But according to HIS own purpose and HIS grace are we saved. Not only have we been saved, but we've also been called. Called "with an holy calling…in Christ Jesus before the world began." Wow. The LORD was mindful of you before creation. The LORD called, "the called," before creation.
