Scripture Post #865: *FRIENDS*

John 15:14: "Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you."

It is an awesome thing to be *FRIENDS* with JESUS CHRIST. HE's the very best friend you could ever have. We mustn't kid ourselves, however—if we're not obedient to JESUS, we are not HIS friends. Because JESUS said if we did whatever HE commands, *then* we are HIS friends. Which means, if we don't do as HE commands, we aren't HIS friends. How can a person honestly believe that he can blatantly contradict Scripture by his actions, and still be friends with the LORD? The LORD is holy! We must be *like* HIM in order to be friends with HIM. I've never seen someone who hates goth, friends with someone who's gothic. Never seen a person who hates pets, have one. Never heard of someone hating oatmeal, yet eating it everyday. Why? Because these things are *contradictory*. They don't coincide. We must hate what GOD hates and love what HE loves! Don't hold on to what the flesh desires. You cannot serve two masters. You can't serve your flesh sin, and serve GOD holiness all together. You must choose. 

Don't call yourself GOD's friend and not do what HE says.
