Scripture Post #846: *GREAT GAIN*
1st Timothy 6:
6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.
7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.
8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.

This Scripture was from Apostle Paul, unto Timothy, his son in the faith (1st Tim. 1:1-2).
*GREAT GAIN* can easily leave the impression of riches and affluence. But not in the Biblical-sense, however. The Apostle Paul describes those who count gain as Godliness, "destitute of the truth":
"… destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness…" (1st Tim. 6:5.)
"But godliness with contentment is great gain." (1st Tim. 6:6.)
"…Having food and raiment let us be therewith content." (1st Tim. 6:8.)
Contentment, coupled with Godliness, is the Bible's definition of great gain. Contentment doesn't mean you can never have nice things. Contentment means that you're happy and satisfied, whether you have nice things or not.
