This Scripture was from Apostle Paul, unto Timothy, his son in the faith (1st Tim. 1:1-2).
Elders are experienced and seasoned. Whether in natural or spiritual age. Naturally, an elder can be 70 years of age, and at that age, is deserving of honor and respect. Spiritually, someone could be given the title, "elder", in a Church, or in the faith, because they've had time in their spiritual walk with GOD, and are seasoned and experienced in the things of GOD. Someone who's an elder, especially a spiritual elder, shouldn't be rebuked, but rather treated as a father. Biological fathers don't always do everything right. But their children shouldn't rebuke them for their faults or shortcomings. Special honor should be given towards those who are seasoned and experienced. This honor shouldn't cease over a rebuke-able offense, but should be kept regardless.
