Scripture Post #787: *THE WORLD—GONE AFTER JESUS*

John 12:19: "The Pharisees therefore said among themselves, Perceive ye how ye prevail nothing? behold, the world is gone after him."

John 12:12: "On the next day much people that were come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem,"

V. 13: "Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord."

V. 17: "The people therefore that was with him when he called Lazarus out of his grave, and raised him from the dead, bare record."

V. 18: "For this cause the people also met him, for that they heard that he had done this miracle."

V. 19: "The Pharisees therefore said among themselves, Perceive ye how ye prevail nothing? behold, the world is gone after him."

Many people came to worship JESUS—many people (John 12:12-13). Among those were some who heard of Lazarus being raised from the dead—they came to see JESUS because of the miracle they'd heard of (John 12:18-19). This led to the powerful statement made by the Pharisees: "…Behold, the world is gone after him." The Pharisees knew of CHRIST's attractiveness to the world; which is why they had HIM crucified. The world knows the attractiveness of JESUS CHRIST. The Devil knows the attractiveness of JESUS CHRIST. This is why there are so many attempts to discredit the Church, discriminate Christians, distort GOD's truth, and attack GOD's ministers in this world! Because the world knows that JESUS is very, very attractive. But does the Church know? Does the Church know the power it has? We don't need gimmicks, worldly appeals, nor unbalanced, overly emphasized prosperity messages to win this lost world. We need JESUS!! *THE WORLD—GONE AFTER JESUS*. Evangelism is simpler than you may've assumed. People want JESUS. People want their sins forgiven. People want to go the Heaven. People want love, which is GOD, for GOD *is* love! (1st John 4:16: "…God is love.…") Who wouldn't want these things? GOD IS AN EASY SELL! SO STAY ENCOURAGED WHEN WINNING THE LOST FOR CHRIST.
