Scripture Post #744: *NOT APPOINTED TO WRATH*

1st Thessalonians 5:9: "For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,"

This Scripture was from Apostle Paul, Silvanus, and Timotheus, unto the Church of the Thessalonians (1st Thess. 1:1).

We are *NOT APPOINTED TO WRATH*. We are appointed to obtain salvation. GOD doesn't wish wrath upon us. The wrath of GOD is poured upon the children of disobedience, but it was never GOD's hope for that to happen. Man's condemnation was man's choice and desire. For man chose darkness over light. 

John 3:19: "And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil."

John 3:36: "He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him."

Rom. 1:18: "For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;"

The good news is: JESUS drank the cup of GOD's wrath for us, so that we may be saved! 

Luke 22:42: "Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done."
