Scripture Post #688: *PROVOKE NOT*

Colossians 3:21: "Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged."

This Scripture was from Apostle Paul and Timotheus, to the Saints of Colosse (Col. 1:1-2).

When people attempt to anger you, it can be discouraging. But no one can discourage another individual more than their father can—not parent—father. The reason for this is because the father is the head of the family. The father and mother are important for children to have, but the father's actions, presence, or absence holds a greater affect on a child than that of a mother. The mother is not the head. The mother's role is not at all diminished—it's very important and necessary. But the father holds the child *in* him long before the mother does. The father holds the seed in him, which is the child, then plants the seed into the women. The father holds the seed for *years*; the mother holds the seed for about 9 months. The sex and identity of every child is found in their father. (In their father's seed.) This post is in no way taking away the significance of mothers. This post is to bring understanding as to why the Apostle Paul wrote: "Fathers" in Col. 3:21, and not "Mothers".

Fathers have *great*, great impact over the lives of their children. And provoking them can discourage them, which can bring them many issues and scar them for life.
"Fathers, *PROVOKE NOT* your children…"
