This Scripture was from Apostle Paul and Timotheus, to the Saints of Colosse (Col. 1:1-2).

Bitterness destroys relationships.
At times, it can be so easy to be bitter toward a friend or family member we love. In the case of marriage, bitterness can cause divorce, if not resolved. But one thing about bitterness is this: it's a choice. No one and no thing can force or make us bitter. The reason why so many men physically abuse their wives is over bitterness. And then the husband's excuse'll be: "She *made* me do it—she knows what ticks me off—she knows what my buttons are!" Colossians 3:19: "Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them." *BE NOT BITTER*. Choose a better way. Cease the excuses. Sin is a choice; it is not inevitable. Bitterness mostly occurs in situations where you know the person. I mean, how often do you let strangers' opinions upset you? But what your spouse has to say holds great value. What your sibling has to say holds great value. What your friend has to say holds great value. Why? Because of the closeness of the relationship. No one can make your soul sting like the ones you're in close relationship with. But no matter how much it hurts and no matter how hard it is, don't let bitterness get in the way. Just think of how much GOD loves you despite your imperfection. If GOD loves us even though we've let HIM down and have given HIM many, many, many reasons HE should be bitter with us, who are we to be bitter with others, especially our wives, our soul-mates, our #1's?
