Scripture Post #635: *BORN AGAIN*

John 3:3: "Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."

Context:

John 3:1: "There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:"

V. 2: "The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him."

V. 3: "Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."

V. 4: "Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born?"

V. 5: "Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God."

V. 6: "That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit."

V. 7: "Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again."

V. 8: "The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit."

Every mortal man was born spiritually dead, because every mortal man was in Adam when he died spiritually—when his spirit died to GOD's. That's why we must be born again! We must first die before we can live in CHRIST. We can't bring the old man with his behavior, alongside who we are in CHRIST. Once we die to our sinful flesh, we can then be born again—born anew. Our 2nd birth is a spiritual birth. "That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit." - John 3:6. GOD, being a SPIRIT, births spiritual children. Man, being flesh & bones, gives birth to children of flesh & bones. You're either spiritually dead or spiritually alive, and if you're spiritually alive it's because you're *BORN AGAIN*—born of GOD. 

 

Gal. 2:20: "I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me."
