JESUS' 1st miracle was when HE turned water into wine! Some believe that JESUS turned water into new-wine, with little to no alcohol content—an unfermented wine. Whatever the case, no where in Scripture is it stated, suggested or inferred that drinking wine is sin against GOD. Scripture states that drunkenness is a sinful work of the flesh. (Gal. 5:21: "Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.") But to drink without coming to the point of drunkenness is no where stated as sin in the Bible.

When the people at the wedding ran out of wine, JESUS' mother, Mary, came to HIM saying, "They have no wine." JESUS then replied, "Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come." JESUS knew that it wouldn't be long after HIS *BEGINNING OF MIRACLES*, that HE would be crucified by those who hated HIM. The very miracles that many benefitted from and took great joy in, had many Jews, Pharisees and Chief Priests outraged. Hence JESUS' statement: "…Mine hour is not yet come."
