Scripture Post #595: *CRUCIFIXION SUPERSCRIPTION*

Luke 23:38: "And a superscription also was written over him in letters of Greek, and Latin, and Hebrew, THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS."

When CHRIST was crucified, all who witnessed HIM hanging, bleeding out, and dying for them in love, had to see the recognition of the "KING OF THE JEWS"! There was *recognition* of HIS  *CRUCIFIXION SUPERSCRIPTION*. 

A King is one who sits at the highest position there is in a kingdom or nation. And JESUS (being Jewish) is the KING of the Jews. And not the Jews only, but KING over all who believe. 

The people called HIM "KING" before HE even died for them:

Luke 19:37: "And when he was come nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen;"

V. 38: "Saying, Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest." (Scripture Post #553: *BLESSED BE THE KING*.)

King David, possessing the highest ranking position in the Jewish nation, recognized and prophesied that CHRIST was above him:

Luke 20:41: "And he said unto them, How say they that Christ is David’s son?"

V. 42: "And David himself saith in the book of Psalms, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,"

V. 43: "Till I make thine enemies thy footstool."

V. 44: "David therefore calleth him Lord, how is he then his son?" (Scripture Post #561: *JESUS, KING DAVID'S LORD*.)
