Scripture Post #593: *FORGIVE THEM*
Luke 23:34: "Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots."

JESUS was referring to those who crucified HIM when HE asked the FATHER to forgive them for their ignorance (not knowing). CHRIST's crucifiers weren't aware of what they were doing. They didn't believe that JESUS was the SON of GOD. For had they believed, they would've known, and had they known, they wouldn't crucified the LORD of glory: 1st Cor. 2:7: "But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:"
V. 8: "Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory."
When your abused, persecuted, conspired against, slandered, mistreated, or ridiculed, have the "Had they known" mindset. "Had they known the error of their ways they wouldn't treat me like this. Had they known what I know, they wouldn't hurt me this way." JESUS was our example. So as HE took wrong from others and forgave, let us do the same: 1st Peter 2:21: "For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:"
*FORGIVE THEM* like JESUS.
