Ephesians 6:4: "And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord."

This Scripture was from Apostle Paul to the Saints of Ephesus (Eph. 1:1).
Husbands/fathers being the head of the household, hold a great responsibility in the molding of a child's identity.
(Eph. 5:23: "For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.")
Whether they were present or absent in the child's life, the child is greatly affected by the father. Wrath is exhibited in the lives of many children who've been wronged by their father's. Whether in the case where their father's left the home and never returned, violated or abused them, wrath will present itself in the lives of the victimized child. The hatred for the father who wrongs the child is typically more intense than the hatred for the mother who wrongs the child. Because the father is the head and identity giver. This is why the Scripture reads "*FATHERS* provoke not your children to wrath," versus "mothers."
