Scripture Post #541: *GOOD MASTER*
Luke 18:
18 And a certain ruler asked him, saying, Good Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?
19 And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? none is good, save one, that is, God.

If JESUS said HE wasn't good, then who do we think we are? We can't go around thinking we're all that. JESUS said HE wasn't good. HE gave all credit and glory to GOD, the FATHER. HE did this because HE's humble. HE humbled himself in becoming a mortal man. HE recognized that being in the condition of a man made HIM no good. HE lowered HIMSELF and bore our filthy sin in utmost humility.
JESUS Lowered To Mortal Man Status:
Phil. 2:7: "But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:"
V. 8: "And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross."
JESUS Lowered To Mortal Man Status:
Heb. 4:14: "Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession."
V. 15: "For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin."
("…Was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.")
