Scripture Post #471: *SLAIN & PERSECUTED*
Luke 11:
49 Therefore also said the wisdom of God, I will send them prophets and apostles, and some of them they shall slay and persecute:
50 That the blood of all the prophets, which was shed from the foundation of the world, may be required of this generation;
51 From the blood of Abel unto the blood of Zacharias, which perished between the altar and the temple: verily I say unto you, It shall be required of this generation.

These are JESUS' Words to the Pharisees (Luke 11:37-54).
When evil people—like the generation JESUS was referring to in this Passage—persecute, harm and/or kill GOD's people, I have peace and comfort knowing GOD is in control. And that GOD knows what HE's doing. Many, many Saints have been persecuted and murdered, from the early Ministers of the Faith around JESUS' time (John The Baptist, Stephen, etc.) to the people of today in other countries. And that's not even including innocent people like Abel who were done very wrongly in the Old Testament. But JESUS said in Luke 11:50: "…The blood of all the prophets, which was shed from the foundation of the world, may be required of this generation;" JESUS was referring to an evil generation (Luke 11:29: "…This is an evil generation…"). So the evil ones will be judged for their wrongs. We are not to seek vengeance.
Rom. 12:19: "Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord."
Those who persecute GOD's people will be dealt with by GOD, but more importantly, those Saints who've been persecuted and've died will reap reward by GOD!
Rev. 2:10: "Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life."
Weep no more, for The Crown Of Life awaits GOD's persecuted!
