Scripture Post #449: *IN THE RIGHT HANDS*
Luke 10:21: "In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight."

This Scripture starts off with: "In that hour…" Well, in what hour? What's the context? The context is this: Before sending them forth, JESUS was talking to HIS 70 Disciples (excluding The 12), instructing them on what to do concerning furthering the Kingdom of GOD (Luke 10:1-16). When they returned, they reported to JESUS joyfully that devils were subject unto them through HIS name (Luke 10:17). Then JESUS speaks of Satan and devils and how it's more rejoice-worthy to have your names written in Heaven than it is to cast out a demon (Vs. 18-20). So that brings us to: "In that hour…" The hour that JESUS spake to HIS Disciples about names written in Heaven, in the prior verse.
"…Thou hast hid these things…" Which things? (Reflecting on the context) the things that JESUS' Disciples were doing: casting out demons and furthering the Kingdom of GOD. This power that JESUS gave to HIS Disciples, was placed *IN THE RIGHT HANDS*— "babes" instead of "the wise and prudent". JESUS referred to HIS 70 as *babes* because *the young* are humble, and humility leads the path towards the Kingdom of Heaven! (Matt. 18:2: "And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them,"
V. 3: "And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven."
V. 4: "Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.") But being wise and prudent (in this context) leads the path towards sin and death. Haughty pride is nowhere near the things of GOD. If the wise and prudent got ahold of what the 70 had, then their pride would've intensified, and the work of the LORD would've been hindered. Which is why JESUS "rejoiced in spirit" that this power was placed in the right hands. The hands of HIS 70. The hands of "babes". The hands of humble men.
Prov. 16:18: "Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall."
Prov. 29:23: "A man’s pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit."
