JESUS had left a certain place in a city or town, then returned, and was "gladly received" by those "waiting for him."
It might be assumed that living in JESUS' day was better than living in today's. Or that experiencing JESUS in person (physically), then, was better than experiencing HIM spiritually, now. But when you factor in that CHRIST wasn't with all HIS followers all the time (omnipresent), then, as HE is now; when you factor in that those who loved JESUS had to wait for HIM to return to them when HE was away (if HE'd return at all), then, opposed to constant, continuous fellowship, now; when you factor in the Gospel message, Apostle Paul's writings, and the rest of the New Testament and other glorious things we have today that the people of JESUS' time didn't have access to, I'd say we have it great! Greater even!! (However, this doesn't at all diminish the people of JESUS' time's experiences.)
