Scripture Post #407: *JESUS' FAMILY*

Luke 8:

19 Then came to him his mother and his brethren, and could not come at him for the press.

20 And it was told him by certain which said, Thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to see thee.

21 And he answered and said unto them, My mother and my brethren are these which hear the word of God, and do it.

JESUS states the requirements for being HIS Family in verse 21: "My mother and my brethren are these which hear the word of God, and do it." ("Hear" & "do".) This means that if you don't do the things of the WORD of GOD then you're not GOD's Family. There's room for forgiveness if we in CHRIST's Family fall short. But as for those who call their unGodly lifestyles "good" or "okay" and don't abide by the WORD, they are those who aren't in GOD's Family. How can it be that we who are in CHRIST, take on the name "CHRIST", within the name CHRISTian, and not be CHRIST-like? Are we made new or aren't we?
