Scripture Post #313: *SEE & BELIEVE*?

Mark 15:32: "Let Christ the King of Israel descend now from the cross, that we may see and believe. And they that were crucified with him reviled him."

Context (JESUS is on the Cross here):
Mark 15:29: "And they that passed by railed on him, wagging their heads, and saying, Ah, thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days,"
V. 30: "Save thyself, and come down from the cross."
V. 31: "Likewise also the chief priests mocking said among themselves with the scribes, He saved others; himself he cannot save."
V. 32: "Let Christ the King of Israel descend now from the cross, that we may see and believe. And they that were crucified with him reviled him."

The Chief Priests had it all wrong. They desired to see in order to believe (in verse 32). But we don't see in order to believe. JESUS said unto Thomas, after Thomas doubted: "…Blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed." John 20:29: "Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed."

We don't see in order to believe; we believe in order to see. Believing in order to see looks like this: We are blind to the things of GOD, blind to GOD's Kingdom, Blind to eternal life in CHRIST—so we believe in GOD to access all those things we're blind to. Plain & Simple. To reverse this and access the things we're blind to first, without believing in GOD, requires no faith in HIM at all—no faith period. Because in seeing those things we were blind to, we are seeing GOD's attributes and glory. And to see GOD's attributes and glory is to believe in HIM: seeing in order to believe. Just like the Chief Priests and Thomas. It's faithless.
