Scripture Post #297: *PERCENTAGE*
Mark 12:
41 And Jesus sat over against the treasury, and beheld how the people cast money into the treasury: and many that were rich cast in much.
42 And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites, which make a farthing.
43 And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury:
44 For all they did cast in of their abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living.

We see here that JESUS looks at the *PERCENTAGE* of giving. V. 41 states: "…Many that were rich cast in much." Then in the following verses it states how the poor widow woman gave "two mites, which make a farthing" (about equivalent to two pennies). But JESUS said that this woman gave more than anyone, because the others gave out of there abundance, but she gave all she had. This is clearly speaking of percentage. Because she didn't give more than the others in terms of amount. (She only gave about two pennies!) She gave more in terms of percentage: she gave 100% of all her wealth, whereas no one else did. This is why when we're given things or even see others give things period, we shouldn't judge the amount they give because we don't know the percentage in which they are giving.
I credit Pastor Andy Stanley (Pastor Charles Stanley's son) and GOD, of course, for the insight of the percentage message.
