Scripture Post #296: *BE NOT DECEIVED*
1st Corinthians 15:
33 Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.
34 Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.

Context: This Scripture was from Apostle Paul and Sosthenes, unto the Church at Corinth (1st Cor. 1:1-2).
It's true what they say: "One bad apple spoils the whole bunch." Because: "Evil communications corrupt good manners."
Have you ever known someone who was such a good little boy or such a sweet little girl, and then they get around the wrong people and end up corrupted? That's because this Scripture is true! This is why I try really hard to keep away from bad influences—I don't want to end up corrupted. I'd rather be alone with peace, than be with filthy-mouthed friends.
1st Corinthians 15:33-34
Easy-to-Read Version (ERV):
V. 33: "Don’t be fooled: 'Bad friends will ruin good habits.'"
V. 34: "Come back to your right way of thinking and stop sinning. Some of you don’t know God. I say this to shame you."
Notice how in V. 34, Paul wants to shame you if you're not acting right. Shame is not a bad thing. If you're not acting right (sinning) you ought to be ashamed so you can get right with GOD.
Shame brings forth repentance. And repentance brings forth *freedom*!
