Scripture Post #294: *THE LEAST*

1st Corinthians 15:
9 For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.
10 But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.

Context: This Scripture was from Apostle Paul and Sosthenes, unto the Church at Corinth (1st Cor. 1:1-2).

Apostle Paul had the right attitude here. He's so humbled in his approach towards Apostleship in stating that he's *THE LEAST* of the Apostles. He felt he was the least because of the sin he committed—persecuting the Church of GOD. But by GOD's grace "…I am what I am…", Paul states in V. 10. Remember the prodigal son? Remember his attitude about returning to his father's house? Notice how very similar his attitude is about returning to his father's house to the Apostle Paul's about becoming an Apostle! [Asterisks added for emphasis.] Luke 15:17: "And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father’s have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!"
V. 18: "I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, *I have sinned against heaven, and before thee,"
V. 19: "And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants*."
V. 20: "And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him."
V. 21: "And the son said unto him, *Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son*." Just like Paul, the prodigal son knew that he wasn't worth what was to become of him! But he got his sonship position, just as Apostle Paul got his Apostleship position! Luke 15:22: "But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet:"
V. 23: "And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry:" It's about having the right attitude. You have to be humble in your approach and stance in Christianity. There are no arrogant Believers. Let it be known and understood that GOD forgave Paul for what he did. And Paul was not at all condemned. He simply allowed his sin to fire his passion for GOD in the form of humility. Something we all should do.
