Scripture Post #199: *ELECT DECEIVED*
Matthew 24:
23 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.
24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
Note: Jesus was talking to His disciples here.
The "elect" mentioned in this Scripture, are those who are saved and chosen of by GOD (Christians). Christians will be deceived into believing that what they see has got to be GOD because of the great miracles, signs & wonders! Which is why we can't go by miracles, signs and wonders when it comes to the things of GOD. Why can't we? Because Satan can do miracles, too! Remember Moses? Remember how his brother Aaron's rod was turned into a snake; and then the Egyptian's, under Satan's power and influence, did the same thing?! (Ex. 7:10: And Moses and Aaron went in unto Pharaoh, and they did so as the LORD had commanded: and Aaron cast down his rod before Pharaoh, and before his servants, and it became a serpent.
[verse 11:] Then Pharaoh also called the wise men and the sorcerers: now the magicians of Egypt, they also did in like manner with their enchantments.
[verse 12:] For they cast down every man his rod, and they became serpents: but Aaron’s rod swallowed up their rods.) There are people who work under Satan, who appear to be working for GOD, and deceive many! Satan can make himself (as ugly as he his), look Godly and holy! (2nd Cor. 11:13: For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.
[verse 14:] And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
[verse 15:] Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.)
We judge whether or not what we see is GOD, by the fruit! (Matthew 7:15: Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
[verse 16:] Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
[verse 17:] Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
[verse 18:] A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
[verse 19:] Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
[verse 20:] Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.) What fruit was JESUS talking about here? The fruit of the SPIRIT! (Gal. 5:22: But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
[verse 23:] Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.)
