Scripture Post #196: *OWN SPOUSE*
1st Corinthians 7:
1 Now concerning the things whereof ye wrote unto me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman.
2 Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband.
Note: This Scripture was from Apostle Paul and Sosthenes, unto the Church at Corinth (1st Cor. 1:1-2).
Apparently, Apostle Paul received a letter, or letters from the Church at Corinth regarding sex, fornication, et cetera. And in verse 2, it seems that Apostle Paul answered their question about fornication. It states: "…To avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband." The only reason for it to "be good for a man not to touch a woman" stated in verse 1, would be if those "touching" were unmarried. (Touching sexually, fornicating.)
So basically, to avoid fornication, marry. (Get your *own spouse*.) Or, live single and celibate; but if you feel it'll be too difficult to live that way, marry: "But if they cannot contain, let them marry: for it is better to marry than to burn." (1st Corinthians 7:9)
