Scripture Post #129: *UNPARDONABLE SIN*
Matthew 12:
31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.
32 And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.
Don't be spooked out by this. We must know the context of this Scripture to really understand it's meaning. First of all, Jesus was speaking to the Pharisees when He said this (Matt. 12:25-32). Secondly, Jesus had just done a miracle of healing and of casting out a devil and people awed in amazement (verse 22-23). The Pharisees denied this miracle to be of God and accused Jesus of being of the Devil (verse 24)! Which is why Jesus even mentioned blasphemy against the Holy Ghost as being unforgiveable. Because, when the Pharisees said that Jesus' miracle of casting out a devil was of the Devil, they were actually meaning that the precious Spirit of God who Jesus said He casted the devil out by, in verse 28, (the Holy Ghost) was not Holy at all, but instead, a devil! Which is blasphemy against the Holy Ghost.
I learned most of this that I shared today from this link (it's really good!):
