Scripture Post #99: *KEEP IT MOVIN'*
Matthew 10:23: "But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another: for verily I say unto you, Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come."
Context: Jesus is speaking to His Disciples here. Also, Jesus sent forth His 12 Disciples to go out and preach for His Kingdom's sake: Matt 10:1-7.
You can't make people listen to you.
You can't make people receive you.
You can't control people.
Jesus sent His Disciples out to preach. And He said to them: "…When they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another…" In other words: *Keep it movin'*. You've said your part, they didn't want to receive it, so you go forth to preach else where. In Matt. 10:14, Jesus said to shake off the dust of your feet if they don't receive you.
We should win as many souls to Christ as possible. But we can't do that stuck in a place that refuses to receive from us (no souls there would be won to Christ). There are too many lives that need Jesus for us to be stuck in a land that doesn't want to hear from us. We should keep it movin'.
