Scripture Post #67: *LORD, LORD*
Matthew 7:
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Note: Jesus is speaking here.
You know, it's not important enough for you to just know God -- God must know you: Jesus said He'd say, "…I never knew you: depart from me…" to people who apparently knew Him (those who went,*Lord, Lord*). The Devil knows God, but does that mean he'll enter Heaven? No. There'll be a lotta people that know God in Hell; but all people in Heaven God'll know. So, the question isn't: "Do you know God?" It's: "Does God know you?" Does God know YOU? Is YOUR name written in The Lamb's Book of Life? 'Cause that's the ONLY way you're gettin' in Heaven!
Lastly: Jesus said in verse 21 of Matthew chapter 7: "…But he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven." Meaning: he that does the will of God, will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven.
